I cannot lie - I have a headache right behind my left eye ... caused entirely by too much rosé wine at the fête du Carlucet last night. I don't think my right eye has even woken up yet :o(

Dinner last night was superb - how do you feel about a Frenchman's need to eat every bit of an animal? Should I continue? Or are you of the delicate kind?

Oh ... ok then, we had salade de gesiers (gizzards - much tastier than they sound) followed by duck sausage and Aligot (the best cheesy mash on the planet). Then there was cabecou (local goats’ cheese) and ice-cream. I fell into bed (after tottering home - no street lights, narrow country lanes, much laughter) at 2am but could hear the music / shenanigans 'til much later!

I think the only reason I'm awake is that niggly little eye pain and the frog (the real kind not some random French passer by) making a noise (similar to a car alarm) outside my bedroom window - I can already feel a siesta coming on ;o)
